We know her for her sugar-free, gluten-free, dairy-free yet still unbelievably drool-worthy recipes (and the cookbook that showcases them), but now Ella Mills (aka Deliciously Ella) is branching out into the beauty world.
Announced today are a couple of products from her collaboration with British-based natural beauty brand Neal’s Yard Remedies: a rose, lime, and cucumber moisturizer ($32) and facial wash ($21), available starting September 1 (potentially with more products in the works).
“This is the first-ever collaboration for Neal’s Yard Remedies, and it was a natural partnership right from the beginning,” says Fran Johnson, the brand’s head of formulations. “Ella’s approach to her cooking and feeding your body with the best quality organic ingredients is the same approach we’ve taken to developing skin care for 35 years. It’s all about positively inspiring people to make healthy choices to live the happiest, healthiest lives possible.”
The healthy food blogger actually came across Neal’s Yard products after doing research on alternatives to chemical-laden beauty products.
“As I started eating more natural foods and thinking about what I was putting into my body, I became more interested in what I was putting on it too,” Mills says. “That’s when I started using lots of Neal’s Yard products, which I loved.”
When formulating which ingredients to use in their products, Mills wanted to incorporate her favorite beauty foods in order to achieve radiance and a natural glow.
“I use them in my cooking for their benefits internally, but they also have amazing benefits for the skin when used topically. Turmeric is great for radiance, acai and blueberries are packed with antioxidants, cucumber is really moisturizing. I’ve always loved the scent of rose, as it’s so beautiful and feminine.”
“[Ella] spent some really good time with us in the lab smelling essential oils, looking at how they blended together and that’s how we came up with the beautiful, fresh fragrance,” says Johnson.
Judging by Mill’s knack for making delicious yet super-healthy dishes, her step into the beauty world is bound to offer some ultra-nourishing recipes for glowing skin.
