As TikTok user Jessica Lynn Vanderk showed off in a recent viral video, when the mask starts to dry from a goopy mud into a solid clay, you’re able to very clearly see the oil that it’s removed from your skin. In addition to its mineral actives, the mask also has a blend of five alpha-hydroxy acids (lactic, glycolic, mandelic, pyruvic and tartaric acid) which act as gentle exfoliants to melt away the dead skin cells that tend to trap acne-causing bacteria. Plus, it’s got salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy acid that’s small enough to get way down deep into your pores, clearing them from the inside out and helping to prevent the accumulation of dead skin cells, debris, and oil.
