#BPOTD exclusive: This superfood hair-care duo is like a smoothie for your locks

Beauty editors have no shortage of skin-care and makeup goodies that come across our desks. So when we become obsessed with something, it says a lot. In our “Beauty Product of the Day” series (#BPOTD, for short), we wax poetic about the items that are truly game changers for hair, skin, and nails.

It’s a good thing Briogeo’s new Replenishing Superfood Shampoo and Conditioner come with a warning to not eat—because, packed with kale, spinach, and apple and armed with a super enticing, fruity smell, it’s actually really hard to resist—especially since the green duo comes in uber-cute packaging that makes them truly look like cold-pressed juices.

But, though they’re not edible, they are loaded with nutrients and are made without parabens or sulfates (which can strip color from your hair), so they’re totally okay for color-treated locks. And matcha green tea is a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect the hair and scalp against environmental stressors, like pollution and UV rays.” Talk about superfoods.

When I use the shampoo, it gives a rich lather that smells like an apple smoothie. Then, the conditioner leaves my strands ultra smooth and easy to comb out post-shower. After air drying, my hair’s bouncy, shiny, and smooth—it actually does feel like I fed my locks a healthy green juice, and, in essence, I did.

“I was inspired to leverage my day-to-day wellness routine by creating an aligned hair care regimen,” says Twine. Because if you’re a wellness aficionado when it comes to your diet, why not feed the same to your strands?
