When Meghan Markle shared her “sexy,” three-ingredient zucchini pasta recipe, I immediately drove to the grocery store and bought a bag of zucchinis and some parm (still one of my favorite pasta recipes, TBH). I also bought the same pair of flats (Rothy’s, in case you were wondering) that Markle has been spotted wearing several times. And when I discovered Markle’s go-to hair oil designed for nearly endless shine and 24-hour protection, I got myself a bottle.
To the surprise of literally nobody, the Duchess of Sussex/actor/entrepreneur really knows what she’s doing when it comes to hair products (and probably everything else, since I can’t stop copying her). Markle uses Kérastase Discipline Oléo-Relax Oil Serum, an anti-frizz oil serum designed for wavy, curly, and coily hair. And lucky for all of us, it’s on sale for Labor Day weekend. Snag yourself a bottle for 20% off from now until September 6. In fact, Kérastase is having a site-wide sale, currently, so now’s the time to stock up on shampoos, conditioners, and everything you need for healthy, supple strands. Just pop in the code LDW22 and you’re in business.
Kérastase - Oleo-Relax Advanced Hair Oil — $38.00
Originally $42, now $38
Make sure to use the code LDW22.
I have wavy hair and have found that with just a couple of pumps, this stuff will de-frizz, smooth, and hydrate my hair that’s about to be styled or air-dried. I’ve done both, and found that it really helps lock in moisture and add shine after a blow-dry. It also gives my waves a more (effortless) structure after letting it naturally dry post-shower.
This oil’s superpower ingredients include shorea butter (a mega-dose of moisture), virgin coconut oil (more moisture), and rosa muscata fruit oil (a natural heat protectant). The oil is super lightweight, so I never have to worry about slicking up my already oily roots, it smells like I just left the salon, and all my friends keep asking me what my secret is for ultra-shiny hair.
To really get that Meghan Markle “sparkle,” I personally use a couple of pumps before and after blow-drying (although I do make sure to avoid my roots, because, as I said, they’re already pretty oily without any assistance). It not only makes my waves look like a magazine ad, but my strands feel silky-soft (while still maintaining volume—it’s hard to get both!).

If you’re not completely convinced yet, the reviews for Oléo-Relax Oil might sway ya for good. “I started using this serum in 2003—it makes my long, thick, super curly hair shiny, soft, and easier to blow out and also helps shield it against humidity which no other product has been able to do for me. I love the Oleo Relax mask as well!” one customer writes on Sephora’s site.
Another says, “I’ve been using this product for 13 years. It’s the only hair product I must have and that I’ve stayed loyal to. I scrunch this into my wet curls post-wash as a final touch on top of my other products but this product really shines as a touch-up oil. I smooth it into my hair daily to fix frizz and make my hair presentable. I apply it every day and only wash my hair once a week and this does not make my hair look greasy or feel heavy.”
My only complaint is that I can’t seem to find this in travel size, since I want to take it with me everywhere I go.
