Ever since working from home became the new norm, I haven’t been as motivated to wear a full face of makeup. Skin care has become my No. 1 priority, which is why I’ve been on the hunt for a tinted moisturizer to help make my skin more even, clear and Zoom-ready without relying on the coverage of a foundation every day. Over the last several weeks, I’ve tried my fair share of moisturizers (tinted and otherwise) to help create a fresh face, but none have helped give my dull skin more of smooth glow-up like the Saie Slip Tint ($35).

Saie Slip Tint Dewy Tinted Moisturizer SPF 35 Sunscreen — $35.00
I decided to give this product a trial run after I applied the a sample dollop to my face, and noticed how easily it blended. I couldn’t help but notice (it is my job, but still) how stacked the formula was in terms of buzzy skin-care ingredients. For example, it includes a mineral sunscreen SPF 35. Additionally, the formula features an all-star cast of licorice root (to help brighten), pansy flower (to fight off free radical damage with antioxidants), and hyaluronic acid (to help provide and lock in hydration). As someone with dry skin, I couldn’t ask for a better trio of ingredients to help nourish and protect my skin day in and day out.
How does the Saie Slip Tint feel on the skin?
Very, very smooth. Like many tinted moisturizers, this one gives you minimal to sheer coverage. But this isn’t a problem, IMO. In fact, I was still able to cover up some faint acne scars on my cheeks by using a patting motion to apply the product. However, if you do need more coverage for more prominent blemishes and dark spots, I recommend using some concealer on top of the moisturizer to create a more uniform complexion, since it’s not too buildable.

Plus, the formula doesn’t oxidize—what you see is what you get. You don’t have to worry about it settling or changing shades a minute later, like I experienced when using other foundations. The moisturizer stays the same color from the moment you take it out of the bottle to the moment you apply it. All you have to do is apply it onto your skin and you’re good to go. And really, two or three pumps can go a long way (at least for me). Just with three pumps, I was able to cover my entire face.
The texture is also super pleasant. It’s got a thin consistency without being watery at all, which is great for those with dry skin like myself. The formula really quickly absorbs into the skin, and keeps it supple. Also, the hyaluronic acid really leaves your skin with a super dewy finish (and helps lock in hydration—another major win). In fact, my skin felt so dewy that I ended up using a bit of setting powder to soak up a bit of extra moisture. But for me, the true test of whether or not this tinted moisturizer would stay in my beauty cabinet was how well it held up during an afternoon of running errands in the streets of New York City. And by that I mean, it needs to stay put on my face throughout the day without losing its luster.
At noon, I was off to a good start when the cashier at my neighborhood grocery store didn’t recognize I had any makeup on my face and still complimented my skin for looking “very smooth.” By about 4 p.m., I still didn’t feel I needed to re-apply. The moisturizer didn’t disappear or become oily as the day went on. My skin looked just as fresh as it had in the morning when I first put it on, which is not something that a lot of moisturizers can tout.
Verdict:
All in all, the moisturizer gave my bare skin a more radiant and even appearance. It immediately took away the dullness that I often struggle to hide when I wear no makeup. And for that, the moisturizer gets my vote for the perfect no-makeup makeup look.
