Superfoods are making their way into just about everything these days, from beauty products and sandwich bread to Easter eggs. Next up? Toothpaste. Schmidt’s Naturals—the brand behind your go-to natural deodorant—just launched a new collection for your pearly whites, and the products are full of some pretty surprising (and healthy!) ingredients.
Derived from plant- and mineral-based ingredients, the four new flavors include out-there components like goji berry and pomegranate extracts, organic aloe leaf juice, magnolia bark extract, vitamin E, and heart-fueling CoQ10. And don’t worry: The tubes are free of artificial sweeteners, flavors, and dyes.

“Our customers are seeking effective, high-performing alternatives to traditional personal-care products, and toothpaste is no exception,” Schmidt’s Naturals co-founder Jaime Schmidt said in a press release. “We focused on providing all the essential functions of a toothpaste, but taking it a step farther with supercharged vitamin and superfood ingredients to encourage overall mouth health. We’re innovating formulas that go beyond your teeth.”
These products, which co-founder Michael Cammarata calls the “next level of natural,” promise not only to leave your mouth feeling clean, but each flavor—Wondermint, Activated Charcoal (which is gray, not black!), Vanilla Chai, and Coconut + Lime—can also freshen your breath, whiten teeth, and combat plaque and tartar with regular brushing.
But why go natural when there are so many types of toothpaste to choose from? For starters, many of the varieties on store shelves are known for containing controversial ingredients like triclosan, which has been linked to hormonal issues and gut problems. So why not do your body good with, IMO, such fun flavors?
And, don’t forget you need to take good care of the other super-important organ in your mouth too: your tongue, which, according to Ayurvedic medicine, can tell you a lot about your overall health.
