Pat McGrath has long been an important (if not the most important) tastemaker in the beauty industry—the counterpart to Anna Wintour‘s fashion-world dominance, if you will. McGrath is, after all, the reason you know what highlighter even is and how it can boost your glow game. And just in time for the Rihanna-hosted Met Gala, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced a first of its kind collaboration with the makeup maven on beauty products and shirts, the Cut reports.
Art connoisseurs visiting the Met will be able to purchase limited-edition Pat McGrath Labs x the Met makeup and clothing that celebrate the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition.
Starting tomorrow (May 8), limited-edition Pat McGrath Labs x the Met makeup and clothing, including short- and long-sleeved T-shirts ($62 and $82, respectively), will be available at the Met Fifth Avenue, with select items for sale at the Met Cloisters and online, according to Teen Vogue. Aligned with the Costume Institute’s spring 2018 exhibition at the museum, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” (on view May 10 to October 8), the makeup brand is releasing Mothership IV: Decadence Eyeshadow Palette ($125, but it’s currently sold out), Lust: Gloss in Aliengelic ($28), and a number of other currently “additional products.”
McGrath, who says via press release that “religious history and artifacts have always been vital influences on my work,” is honored to be the “the first-ever beauty brand at New York’s iconic Met Store” for this collaboration.
While I wait for the glowy eyeshadow palette to restock online, I’ll just cross my fingers that next year, the Met Gala’s theme has something to do with sheet masks.
