Shop the below lifestyle and activewear brands, and you can do just that because they guarantee their products for life. (Just FYI: Most times, a lifetime warranty refers to the practical lifespan of the product, not your lifespan.) Not only is this more cost-effective, it can also help with sustainability efforts by diverting worn out or broken items from landfills—often brands are able to repurpose and recycle defective or broken items into new ones.
Below, shop some of our favorite brands with lifetime warranties
1. Le Creuset
Even beloved Brooklyn Nine-Nine detective Jake Peralta knows that a Le Creuset pot is great because you can cook and serve in it—plus, it looks amazing on your shelf. Limited lifetime warranties are offered on products that fall into the following categories: enameled cast iron, stoneware, toughened nonstick PRO, tri-ply stainless steel, metal bakeware, kettles and stockpots, and utensils and accessories. Specific terms and conditions apply to each category.
2. Calphalon
This purveyor of cookware, bakeware, appliances, and pretty much anything else kitchen-related has a limited lifetime warranty for many of its products. However, some of its original product lines only have a 10-year warranty, so be sure to double check. If you send your product in and it isn't covered, the brand will send it back to you with a note explaining why.
3. Rainbow Sandals
Most of the the brand's products are covered under its "Rainbow Guarantee" where they are eligible for repair or replacement if they break due to a manufacturing issue. Those that aren't covered have a six-month warranty. If you're not sure if your shoes count, just email pictures of the top and bottoms of your flip flops to the brand's customer service, and they can help you out. For example: If the flip-flop strap has come loose from the sole, that's covered—but if your dog got ahold of them, that's not.
4. Patagonia
Patagonia has an "Ironclad Guarantee," which basically means most items are available for refund, repairs, or exchange if they aren't performing up to your expectations or the design is faulty. They charge a small fee for repairs, but if you're more of a DIY-er, they also have guides available online that walk you through some simple repairs.
5. The North Face
The North Face fleece jackets have gone through quite the sartorial journey. (When I was in college, the cool thing was to pair one with leggings and either tan Uggs or a pair of those Rainbow flip flops. shudder) All North Face-branded items, except for footwear, have a lifetime limited warranty that covers material and workmanship defects. It doesn't cover things like accidental damage, but you can still send your item in to be repaired at a reasonable rate.
6. Bombas
This brand is known for its ultra-comfy socks (also, their Zac Efron campaigns), and it has one of the most generous policies on this list. Under Bombas' "Happiness Guarantee," the brand will replace items that are damaged, whether it's due to holes from normal wear and tear or your dog chewing them up. They'll even replace kids' socks with the next size up if they outgrow them within a year.
7. Columbia
Columbia offers a limited lifetime warranty for the practical lifespan of some products (meaning, your grandpa's 65-year-old sleeping bag doesn't count). Send in your item—you're responsible for the shipping—and if it falls under the warranty policy, you have the option to have it repaired, have it sent back to you un-repaired, or receive a virtual merchandise credit.
8. Atlas Pet Co
Dog parents, take note—Atlas' products, including its super-durable leashes made from premium climbing ropes, come with a lifetime warranty. And thankfully, it applies even if it was your good boy or girl who destroyed it.
