Even though the ’90s ended quite a bit ago, getting your thin eyebrows to look as full as possible can be a real challenge. If you’ve searched tips and tricks, you’ll probably come across the method of using castor oil—but there’s an even better (and safer!) option: almond oil.
While castor oil does work for some people because it’s full of hair-growing vitamins like omega-6 fatty acids and vitamin E, it has caused the exact opposite effect (#yikes). While that one case might be an outlier, know that there are other natural methods you can try for filling out your forehead caterpillars.

“What many people don’t know is that almond oil has the same properties as castor oil in terms of moisturizing brow hair,” Sabah Feroz, brow expert at Blink Brow Bar in New York City, told Byrdie.
Feroz added that the rosemary and almond oil in her favorite go-to product work together to stimulate hair growth while lavender comes in handy for soothing and hydrating the skin. You could even mix your own eyebrow-enhancing cocktail yourself—but be sure to chat with your dermatologist first to make sure you’re not harming your body, even with an essential-oil-based tonic that seems benign.
Here’s the scientific reason why thick brows are so trendy. Also, try these tricks to get naturally gorgeous eyebrows.
