As someone who has difficulty falling—and staying—asleep, trust me when I say your bedding can spell the difference between a bad night’s sleep and a restful slumber. Just like a supportive mattress and quality pillows, bedsheets are as important for a quality shut-eye, cocooning you in warmth without overheating.
I rarely upgrade my bedding, but considering the fact that we spend a third of our lives sleeping, I figured it’d be worth investing in a new bedding set (and a new pajama set). I wanted something soft, breathable, and durable—and if it possessed some ability to help me fall asleep faster, then all the better. After hearing all the praise surrounding the Oprah-approved Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets (normally $288, now $230), I decided to see what all the hype was about.

What are the Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets made of?
The Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets are made from viscose from bamboo, a man-made material with a lightweight and silky-soft texture. It’s also known for its moisture-wicking properties, and it has the ability to stay cool even in hot and humid weather. It’s this combination of softness and breathability that make it a popular option for clothing and bedsheets—and it’s maybe, in large part, why so many of Cozy Earth’s items are made from bamboo viscose. The brand’s ethos also centers on “sustainability,” and, indeed, viscose is generally considered as a step up from synthetic fibers like polyester, nylon, and spandex, which may offer some shoppers peace of mind.
My experience with the Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets
I slept on the Cozy Earth sheets for two weeks, and I can confirm they are one of the softest bedsheets I’ve ever owned. Some sheets I’ve used in the past had a texture akin to sandpaper, but this wasn’t my experience with these bamboo sheets. Since it’s constructed from 100 percent viscose derived from bamboo, it has a silk-like consistency that is at once luxurious and lightweight—and, not to mention, incredibly soft. As such, the sheets don’t irritate my sensitive and eczema-prone skin, earning it bonus points in my book.
As someone with eczema, bedsheets that limit airflow and trap heat often cause me to itch. However, this isn’t typically the case with bedding made from airy materials like bamboo viscose, which along with cotton and silk, are great options for bedsheets for eczematous skin. According to New York-based board-certified dermatologist Rachel Nazarian, MD, FAAD: “This type of fabric [bamboo viscose] allows for better temperature regulation of skin, and [it] can make for a reasonable option for those with atopic dermatitis or eczema.”
The bamboo sheets also help wick away moisture and sweat, which is a common irritant for people with eczema. I didn’t break out in a sweat—a boon for hot sleepers like me—or sneeze up a storm in my bedroom, which gets dusty from time to time. In other words, I can count on these Cozy Earth sheets to make sweat-damp sheets a thing of the past. Since the bamboo viscose material is woven closely together, I also found the sheets to be pill resistant, even after multiple washes, and they can withstand accidental brushes against abrasive or sharp surfaces without threatening to come undone. With the proper care, I think these bamboo sheets will hold up for the long run.
As someone who prizes style as much as functionality, I love that the bedsheets come in 16 colors, ranging from classic neutrals like white, navy, and gray and muted hues such as sage green, pale blue, and terracotta red. If anything, they aren’t available in bright or bold colors. However, if color is your thing, you can opt to dress your bedscape with ornate pillows or a printed comforter; consider the Cozy Earth sheets as a blank canvas for experimentation. Plus, they come packaged in a reusable white tote bag with handles, making them easy to store between uses.

How to care for the Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets
It’s easy to care for Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets, and the best way to clean them between uses is by using cold water and washing and drying on a regular cycle—keeping in mind that some initial shrinkage is to be expected. The brand recommends washing them with detergent, and detergent only. Fabric softener or bleach isn’t recommended so as to extend the lifespan of your sheets. You can also keep your sheets smelling fresh by hanging them in direct sunlight for a few hours every four to six months, per the brand. Hang-drying might also help prevent unwanted creases, because while comfortable, these sheets tend to wrinkle.
Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets: My honest take
So, what’s the verdict on the Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets? It’s worth its hefty price tag, at least in my opinion. Since sleeping on these sheets, I’ve noticed fewer occasions of itchy skin and sweaty nights, which in turn, has allowed me to snooze more peacefully. It has some minor tradeoffs—namely, its tendency to wrinkle and the lack of bright and bold colorways—but needless to say, the pros outweigh the cons.
