Dyson Just Added a New Hot Tool and It’ll Change the Way You Curl Your Hair
Today, the brand is announcing the Dyson Airwrap Styler, which will literally upend the way you curl or blow-out your lengths. Like other hot irons before it, there's a base that comes with multiple attachments to help you achieve your desired look for the day. The catch? This isn't an iron...it styles your hair with high-speed jets of air, which can take your post-shower soggy strands to glossy and good-to-go using a single tool. Because of an internal temperature regulation system, however, the air never gets so hot as to scorch ends or provide extreme heat damage the way that some irons can when they're cranked up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

While the attachments range from a pre-styling dryer to round brushes to flat brushes to two different sizes of the curling barrels, the ones that feel most like a magic trick are the traditional barrel wands. Here's how they work: You grab a strand of hair (not unlike you would when curling it) and hold it up next to the styler. Then, Dyson's innovative motor creates a pressure system around the top of the styling barrel and then air spews out of six air slots, to create something the brand calls the Coanda effect, which helps to wrap the hair (without any help from you) around the wand.
Of course, since not everyone has the same styling needs, Dyson is selling two boxes: The first is meant to provide volume and shape, including a 1.2-inch barrel, a pre-styling dryer, a soft-brush, and a round-brush. The second is meant to smooth and control hair, and includes a pre-styling dryer, a 1.2-inch barrel, a 1.6-inch barrel, and a firm brush. Both sets clock in at a hefty $500 price tag, but because the products work to style hair in different ways, it's the only tool you'll need. Not to mention, it puts a wrap on all those deep conditioning treatments.
