About 72 percent of Americans oppose testing cosmetics products on the 100 million cats, dogs, monkeys, guinea pigs, rabbits, and other animals that are killed annually for that purpose, according to a 2011 report from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. So what's holding society back from doing something about it?
