Everlane Just Launched the Soft, Functional (and Affordable) Cotton Underwear of Your Hygge Dreams
Simple cotton intimates simply don't get the recognition they deserve. Sure, they're less glamorous than, say, a lacy bralette adorned with a crystal, but they're also fail-safe: comfortable, breathable, and the best to wear during a workout. Plus, if cotton undies are good enough for Carrie Bradshaw, they're good enough for us all. And if you need more reason to believe that comfort is the name of the fashion game (you know, beyond Victoria Beckham ditching heels), Everlane—a brand built on transparency, sustainability, minimalism, and functionality—just rolled out its first-ever intimates collection, all made of super-soft cotton, and you can buy pieces from it now.
Everlane said in a press release that it took more than two years to reach a product that met its goal to "create simple, natural underwear that women can feel confident and comfortable in.”
The new collection includes a bralette, a bodysuit, and four styles of underwear (bikini, hipster, high rise, and thong), each available in four colors (white, black, grey, light pink). Prices start at $12 for the underwear and cap out at $30 for the bodysuit. All pieces are made of 92 percent United States–grown Supima cotton, which accounts for less than 1 percent of the world's cotton and is known for its softness and strength.
In a press release, the brand noted that this launch has been a 40-prototype labor of love. It took more than two years to reach a product that met Everlane's goal to "create simple, natural underwear that women can feel confident and comfortable in. No frills. No bows. No bullshit.”
For those of you looking to bring more simplicity into your life à la Marie Kondo, these clean-lined cotton basics just might spark joy in your hygge-appropriate wardrobe.
Head back to basics with the new affordable collection.
