Though major supermodels like Gisele Bundchen and Miranda Kerr swear by the oh-so-popular 80/20 diet, model (and Jenner clan BFF) Hailey Baldwin opts for a metabolic detox to set her body straight for New York Fashion Week.
“Right now, I’m on a metabolic detox,” Baldwin, the face of Prabal Gurung’s new Bandier collection ads, tells PeopleStyle. “I’m trying to reset my body before I get into the craziness of all this traveling and running around.”
But just what is this detox method, which the Insta-famous model does for 10 days at a time?
“It’s like a cleanse that you have to do with like protein powder and all this different stuff, and you have to eat a certain type of way,” she says. “I eat healthy regardless but it’s very much more scaled-down.” Baldwin adds that it’s full of clean foods such as fruits and veggies as well as supplements (though she doesn’t specify which ones).
If it’s anything like the 10-day metabolic detox created by health expert Mark Hyman, MD, Baldwin’s supplements may have included fiber (to help curb cravings and balance blood sugar) and fish oil (healthy fats FTW).
As for the eating plan? A metabolic detox calls for you to ditch processed foods, sugar, hydrogenated and refined vegetable oils, grains, anything flour-based, starches, legumes, dairy, caffeine, and alcohol (whew!).
