Weight Watchers is continuing its brand makeover by adding even more star power to its slate. (AKA Oprah, you’ve got company!) According to CNBC, music producer and mogul DJ Khaled is documenting his Weight Watchers experience across his social-media channels—and announced it today. (On Twitter, of course.)
Khaled, who’s known for an extremely quotable and uplifting presence, joins Weight Watchers as a social media ambassador at a time when the company has evolved from a diet brand into a wellness lifestyle—and most recently revamped its well-loved points system as part of its Freestyle campaign, That amounts to a lot of publicity for the company: Khaled has 3.9 million followers on Twitter, 3 million to 4 million views per Snapchat, and 8.9 million followers on Instagram.
DJ Khaled took to his Twitter account yesterday to share that he’s already lost 20 pounds on the Weight Watchers Freestyle program.
PART 5. ?? MAJOR KEY ALERT!!! ?? In full 2018 mode…excited to be living this #WWFreestyle life with you. Down 20 pounds and ready for more. Come with me on my journey to greatness. Bless up Weight Watchers!!! #2018secured @WeightWatchers pic.twitter.com/xaKHpzX5cv
This addition to the Weight Watchers team probably means big rebranding progress for the company—but could it also mean a collaboration between the record producer and Winfrey on an upcoming mix? Who wouldn’t listen to that at the gym?
