The 6 Best New Beauty Launches of January, According to Our Editors
Well, folks, we made it to the end of December, which means we're now inching closer to a new year. This year has been a lot, but we've had some fantastic beauty launches to see us through the ups and downs. While we can't be too sure of what the future holds, we can confidently say that there's still a handful of new launches coming in hot for 2025, including replenishing lip balms (with just the right amount of color), fragrances that are worth a spot in your collection, and new color cosmetics for playing up your cheeks and eyes. Let's get into our favorites, ahead.
January's Launches We Love
In 2025, we’re all about beauty products that work harder for us but cut down on clutter and steps, so we’re scoping out more multitaskers, like this oil, formulated to prime, protect, and smooth your hair. It’s formulated with the brand’s hero ingredient, sea buckthorn berry, which is rich in fatty acids to make your hair look and feel stronger after each use. You can use this in a couple of ways: before heat styling to protect hair up to 450 degrees, after heat styling to smooth and reduce the look of frizz, or on completely dry hair to separate curls and texture without weighing them down.
Lady Gaga’s Haus Labs gets the vibe of wanting your products to work smarter, and their latest launch, the B Structural mascara, will not only lengthen and lift your lashes so they pop but it’s formulated with rice proteins and polypeptides to strengthen your lash hairs with every swipe.
Colourpop’s newest highlighter gives your skin a dewy luminous glow that isn’t too greasy or too sheer (requiring loads of layering). It’s a just-right amount of shimmer that makes the high points of your face pop. It comes with a large doe-foot sized applicator so you can place the pigment exactly where you want. It also comes in three shades:
- Sugar Donut: a champagne ivory
- Pink Pony: baby pink with a lavender reflection
- Immediately Yes: a soft bronzed gold
Phlur’s new Golden Rule is for fruity and floral fragrance lovers. It’s equal parts warm hug and energizing, combining notes of mandarin, pink pepper, and golden pear before blooming into notes of jasmine blossom and coconut milk before it dries down to sandalwood and vanilla cream. If you’re looking for a scent that’ll turn heads (and get you tons of compliments) in the new year, this is definitely one to keep on your radar.
My skin is super dry in the winter, so I’m all about adding more hydration to my routine wherever possible. This essence is at the top of my list to try. It has a milky liquid texture powered by squalane oil, glycerin, collagen, and hyaluronic acid to help your skin feel juicy and plump once you press it in.
This tinted lip balm has a butter, moisturizing feel that I find is typically lacking in similar formulas. It’s made with a blend of hyaluronic and ceramides so your lips actually feel soft and moist with every application, versus like something is just sitting on top. I love the color Rosewood Pink, a mauvy rose that gives my lips but better, but it also comes in two more tinted shades plus a clear option if you want the buttery moisture minus the touch of color.
