The Best Advice Julianne Hough Ever Received Led Her to Wellness
Hough attended the BlogHer Conference in New York City this week—which is exactly what you'd probably expect: a place for #bossbabes to join forces and become unstoppable online. Women's health was a major focus at this year's gathering, so it's not surprising that self-care guru and Well+Good Council member Latham Thomas interviewed Hough about the entertainer's journey with endometriosis. Also not surprising? Just how enlightening their discussion was.
When the Mama Glow founder asked Hough about future career plans, the triple-threat performer said her goal to help other women has directed her move into the health and wellness space. And it's all thanks to advice she once received.
"I think that’s the best advice that somebody gave me: 'The more you give, the more you live,' and everything that you accomplish is much more fulfilling when it’s about serving and giving." —Julianne Hough
"I’ll be trying to be a person of service," Hough said. "I think that’s the best advice that somebody gave me: 'The more you give, the more you live,' and everything that you accomplish is much more fulfilling when it’s about serving and giving."

So, in addition to spreading awareness about endometriosis, Hough is also working on her entrepreneurial skills as a means to satisfy her personal career aspirations while also reaching even more people. "I was thinking, What can I do to have the massive amount of impact in the world, but also grow and learn and evolve as a human?"
That thought led Hough to a few different avenues, all of which are intertwined. "I’m going to go on a journey," she said. "I’m almost 30, and it’s like, what's my purpose? Right now, I think it’s very focused on fitness, health, energy work—mind, body, soul—they’re all sort of compartmentalized. How do we bring it all together so we can really evolve in humanity?"
Who knows? The world might have another next-level energy healer soon. Sound's like Hough's triple-threat status is about to become quadruple.
