When I was invited to the Reset Retreat with Alo Yoga at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, I immediately jumped at the opportunity. As a huge fan of Alo, Cabo, and wellness retreats, I didn’t have to be asked twice. However, when I stepped off the plane in Mexico, I was carrying more than just my overstuffed suitcase—I was fresh off a breakup and in desperate need of a reset of my own. My mind felt cluttered, my energy drained, and I was beyond ready to rewind, recharge, and maybe even remember what it felt like to fully exhale.
But first, A bit about the Alo Moves Reset and Retreat
Earlier in 2025, Alo Moves, the wellness and streaming workout platform from Alo Yoga introduced The Reset, a transformative 30-day program designed to champion sustainable, mindful living. Filmed at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, each session offers a virtual escape to ocean views and tranquil surroundings.
This program reimagines the expert-endorsed 3-2-8 workout method, which combines three days of Pilates, two days of strength training, and 8,000 daily steps, and adds in weekly nutrition guidance from Sakara Life founders Danielle DuBoise and Whitney Tingle. Designed for all fitness levels, The Reset empowers the Alo Moves community to build balanced, sustainable wellness routines that extend far beyond the 30 days.
The retreat itself is an in-person extension of this philosophy—and what I got a sneak preview of earlier this year—offering participants the chance to experience the program firsthand right in Los Cabos. From curated workouts and nourishing meals to restorative wellness practices, every detail is designed to help attendees reset their bodies and minds. The next retreat runs from April 3 to 5, and signups are available right now.
My Experience on the Alo Moves Reset Retreat
The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal
While the itinerary itself was incredible—and I'll get more into that below—the setting couldn't have been more stunning. The grounds of the hotel are situated right on the water amongst these huge dramatic cliffs and, to enter the hotel, you drive through the Dos Mares tunnel, which is a long cavernous tunnel filled with lanterns to light it up (it's as magical as it sounds). Each room of the hotel features stunning decor that is local to the area, the most comfortable bedding and linens, and a private balcony with a plunge pool. To be honest, it was one of the most luxurious rooms I've ever stayed in.
Each afternoon, we were given two Coronitas (mini Coronas) with chips and guacamole, and each night, I returned to my suite to find a beautifully curated turn-down service—local dessert treats, a drawn bath infused with aromatic scrubs, and candlelight that transformed my space into a sanctuary. It was the kind of nightly ritual that made me wonder why I ever settled for my usual bedtime routine of collapsing onto the couch with Netflix. I'm a generally good sleeper, but the set-up and care of the room and the staff at the Waldorf Pedregal made it a true paradise for me.
Finally, we were also treated to a spa experience. I am a true sucker for a good spa treatment, but this one exceeded all of my expectations. They have a line of Signature Treatments, that are tied to the moon. I opted for the Calming Moon massage, which includes a rose buds petal and brown sugar exfoliation, re-mineralizing rose mud wrap, and a relaxing massage. The spa also has a cold plunge, sauna, and cozy spaces to reset, so needless to say I could've spent hours (see: days) in there—it was divine.

Movement with a View
As mentioned, the Reset program reimagines the 3-2-8 method, and the retreat brought that philosophy to life in the best way possible. Mornings kicked off with Pilates sessions overlooking the ocean, led by Alo Moves’ expert instructor, Bianca Wise, and were tough but made easier by the gorgeous surroundings. We typically had our strength training sessions in the afternoons with Jade Smith, another expert instructor with Alo Moves, who emphasized mindful movement and core strength. They were so fun and lovely, and thankfully both lead classes in the Alo Moves app, so I'm able to keep working out with them, even from home.

The team also took us on a beautiful hike nearby, which was a stunning way to get our steps in, AND on an insane yacht to tour the coastline and spot whales (which was incredible). While on the boat, we even did a quick pilates class with Bianca, which I can say was a first for me. Trying to hold a plank while at sea is no easy feat, but again, the environment and instructor made it much easier. As you can tell, the itinerary was quite busy—I won't lie—but it felt great to move my body so much and it was accompanied by a lot of mindfulness, which was a perfect complement.

Moments of Mindfulness
Which brings me to the mindfulness! Although activity is a main pillar of the retreat, the team also carved out many activities for us to do alongside the workouts. On the first day, as the waves rolled onto the shore in a steady, rhythmic lull, we gathered on the beach for a guided meditation and journaling session again led by Bianca. With the breeze on our skin and the sound of the ocean as our backdrop, she walked us through a series of prompts that encouraged us to reflect on where we were, both physically and emotionally. It was one of those rare, serene moments that feel almost out-of-body.
On our second-to-last day, we participated in a cacao ceremony at sunset—an ancient ritual meant to open the heart and foster connection. Sipping the rich, slightly bitter cacao as the sky turned golden felt deeply grounding and healing. There was something undeniably magical about being surrounded by like-minded souls, sharing in an experience that felt equal parts ancient wisdom and modern self-care.

New Friends that Felt Like Community
One of the more unexpected, yet cherished, parts of the retreat was the sense of community that formed so effortlessly. Between the incredibly welcoming team at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, the passionate team from Alo, and the group of editors and content creators on the trip, we bonded in a way that felt both natural and exciting. Whether it was sharing laughs over meals, bonding on the excursions, or unwinding together during the wellness rituals, there was an undeniable camaraderie that made the experience even more special. It wasn’t just about fitness and mindfulness—it was about connection, support, and the joy of experiencing something truly meaningful with like-minded women. Even when we had free time, we all elected to hang out together and that was truly magical.

Final Thoughts
The Alo Moves Reset Retreat was more than just a getaway—it was a recalibration. A chance to step away from the noise of everyday life and tune into what my body and mind truly needed. If you’re looking for a transformative wellness journey (or just a really good excuse to book a trip to Cabo), this might just be the reset you didn’t know you needed. Sign-ups are available now and will be sure to sell out—so book soon!
