Perhaps that is why Etsy now has more than 26,000 search results for “face home decor,” and searches for “faces” are up 38 percent since last year, according to the site’s new Spring Home Decor Trend Guide. Yes, people are literally filling their homes with faces on decor items—and, considering this means you’ll never really be alone in your Zen den, the smiling, trendy items are pretty genius.

“As we continue to move away from minimalism and as people are spending more time at home, we’re seeing an uptick in face-inspired decor as a way to add more playful pieces that add joy to home design,” Etsy’s trend expert Dayna Isom Johnson tells me.
