These Are the 7 Best Stores That Carry Cute, Comfy Shoes Above a Size 11
Ever since childhood, I knew the world wasn’t ready for my large feet. As a teen, I maintained a steady US women’s 12-13, which most stores didn't carry, leaving me to shop for shoes in the men's section. Then, the moment more brands did start carrying a women's 13, my foot grew to what it is now a US women’s 14 in flats and 15 in heels—two sizes still hard to find in shoe stores.
Now, one could say that I should just try to squeeze into a size 13 shoe, but I’m not going to give myself foot problems for fashion. According to OrthoInfo (which is supported by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons), “women especially are more likely to purchase a shoe that is too small, putting them at risk for corns, bunions, and other deformities that may require surgery to correct.” No thanks!
Fortunately, more and more stores have recently expanded their shoe options, giving me, and fellow members of the #BigFootClub, more options to choose from. They're not just sneakers, either—below is a list of size-inclusive shoe stores where I get my own heels, boots, sandals, and other traditionally feminine styles from. Scroll to find your sole-mate.

Britain-based brand Otto and Ivy caters to those in search of classic styles but in larger sizes. The store offers a range of styles: mules, slides, sandals, pumps, flats, and boots. The Paily Heels are the first pair of shoes I’ve ever bought from Dolce Vita. Seeing the pitch on this 3.2-inch heel, I thought the ball of my foot would suffer under pressure. The accents on Steve Madden’s Quantum Black sneaker gives off a reflection similar to aurora borealis stones in bright light. The shiny and chunky outsole, matte midsole, and metallic tones combine to give what would be a regular black sneaker a stylish upgrade.
