7 sexy swimsuits that aren’t skimpy

Bikinis will likely never go out of style. But this season one-pieces and rash guards are making waves, with on-trend prints, zippers, and color-blocking that really flatters. Turns out, concealing is the new revealing.

Hello, chic cloud-print! This one-piece made by swimwear brand Cover is part short-sleeve rash guard, part maillot, so you can wear it the sportier way, zipped up. Or…the under-the-umbrella way, half zipped, with dark sunnies on. Ooh, la, la.

Lenny Niemeyer Red Light One-Piece Swimsuit, $223

This swimsuit is out of this world. The eye-catching design is both futuristic chic and says glowing heart chakra to the right woman. And while the halter-style one-piece is not exactly made for intense water activities (it has a sexy, low-cut back), it’s perfect for taking a dip in the pool.

J.Crew Sailor Stripe Rash Guard, $78

We had to add a rash guard into the mix, since there’s become no better way to add a slash of sun protection and bit of bare tummy coverage over a bikini. J.Crew currently has a ton of colorfully printed, short- and long-sleeve designs. This one comes in fun, striped shades and is made with UPF 50 sun protection.

Seea Palmas One-Piece Swimsuit, $149

Amanda Chinchelli started Seea because she couldn’t find a sexy swimsuit for surfing. Now, the adorable Italian designer’s line specializes in just that. And we love how this long-sleeve “surf suit” is a little ladylike with a tie-back at the neck, instead of a zipper.

Mara Hoffman Underwire One Piece, $256

Prints are very charming. Especially Mara Hoffman’s. The New York-based designer draws inspiration for her bold, geometric patterns everywhere from Morocco to Mexico. We love this suit because it has just enough underwire (and it’s hidden in the pattern) and a hot cut-out back.

Free People Long Sleeve One Piece, $148

This long-sleeve one-piece is part of Free People’s new fitness collection, and was made in collaboration with the swimwear designer Zinke. It’s for the surfer girl in all of us. Though you can wear it lingering in the shallow end, too.
