As a wellness writer and big fan of clitoral orgasms, I appreciate the versatility of massage wand vibrators. These types of sex toys can help you reach that elusive orgasm, sure, but they also smooth out even the toughest stress knots, regardless of where they may be on your body. At least that’s what the Ava Vivvo Massage Wand does—and it looks damn chic while doing it. We love a multi-tasking product!
From the moment I opened the beautiful peach-and-blue ombré box, I could tell that this was going to feel like a luxurious product—which is amazing considering that, at $30, it doesn’t come tagged with a luxury price. Overall, I would give the Ava Vivvo 4.7 stars out of five. I get into the specifics—like my first impressions, my honest review, and who I’d recommend this toy to—below.

Pros & cons
Pros:
- Is a versatile toy, serving as a massage gun and wand vibrator
- Super budget-friendly
- Minimal and gold-plated design that’s really gorgeous to look at
- Has super-soft and body-safe silicone that’s pleasing to the touch
Cons:
- Advertised as “quiet vibrations,” but still makes quite a bit of sound
- Has a lot of buttons, which can get tricky to remember
My first impression of the Ava Vivvo Massage Wand
As soon as my editor asked if I wanted to review this massager, I surfed the web and researched the vibe, landing on some neat information. First of all: The Ava Vivvo is an upgraded version of the best-selling Luna vibrator we’ve written about in the past—it just has a new name and way better features (we’ll get into those in a bit). Plus, there’s also a “standard” version (the Ava Vivv) of this vibrator, which is a little cheaper and has less bells and whistles. However, I think the Vivv is much better and worth the extra $10 or so.
The cloud-like box that the premium massager comes in allows you a sneak peek at your new toy’s silhouette. When I pulled my new toy out of the box, I was stunned—and, honestly, a little aroused—by how soft the body-safe silicone was. It feels like a buttery and velvety material that would melt you in all the right ways.

What the Ava Vivvo feels like as a massager and vibrator
As a personal massager
I recently flew from Los Angeles to New York to Morocco (and back), adding an additional drive from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, and back again—in less than two weeks. Not as perky or regenerative as I was in my early 20s, I got knots all over my neck, back, and shoulders as a result of the spontaneous trip. (Still worth it!)
When I got back, the Ava Vivvo was waiting for me, ready to make me whole again. Because the head of this wand is as flexible as Gabby Douglas, I was genuinely able to hit hard-to-reach crevices, like the nook of my neck and underneath my shoulder blade. In fact, I had a quarter-sized knot in my left scapula (medical speak for shoulder blade) and this massager helped smooth it out. The whole process (i.e. massage) took about 10 minutes. As the massager is easy to grip and quite lightweight, I didn’t mind holding it.

On my way back to the States from Morocco, I sat for almost 15 hours straight. My hips, thighs, and glutes were killing me. It almost felt like I needed to reactivate them or something, like I needed to remind them that they were, in fact, still going to be used. Luckily, the Ava Vivvo also helped in that regard when I got home.
Both times that I used this as a personal massager (instead of as a wand vibrator, which I’ll cover in the next section), I went with the consistent vibration and had it at a lower setting. I found that I could go up two more settings before there was too much pressure for my liking. Of course, I still explored the other settings—since there are a whopping eight intensities and 20 patterns! That, however, I did in a more sensual capacity, using the personal massager as a wand vibrator.
The Ava Vivvo as a wand vibrator
Once I knew how powerful this Ava toy was as a personal massager, I knew I would be equally impressed with its prowess as a sex toy. Since the diameter of this sex toy’s head is about an inch, it fully covers my entire clitoris. Now, I’m not saying that you can only use this toy to stimulate your clitoris. You can absolutely use it on your nipples, neck, and other erogenous zones—and I did.
If I’m honest, the rumbles of this toy are a bit too strong for me to enjoy directly on my nipples, but it’s quite pleasurable if I just kind of hover it above them. As far as my neck, this felt tender and still very sensual on the lowest setting. One unexpected place I tried and loved? My ears. Hear me out (no pun intended, omg!): The flicking motion is reminiscent of a finger sliding back and forth on your clitoris.

While this toy is affordable, feels ultra-smooth, and has an amazing run time of six hours, I have to say that I’m not a big fan of its interface. It has a total of four buttons, from top to bottom: a button with four ascending vertical lines to switch between the eight intensities; a button with a horizontal squiggly line to control the 20 patterns (which is still extremely impressive to me); a button with a power signal that’s pretty self-explanatory; and bigger button all the way at the bottom that’ll send the vibe into “max power.”
Over the past two years, I’ve used dozens of sex toys, so I have to point out that the Ava Vivvo has a cool feature that I haven’t seen in a lot of other toys: a battery display. Like, let’s say your toy is running low on battery. In this case, you’ll see four small red dots aligned vertically. Conversely, when your vibe is fully charged, you’ll see three small yellow lights topped by one green one above the top button (which controls the intensities, remember?).
Who I think would like the Ava Vivvo Massage Wand
After testing this vibe a handful of times, I have to say that it’s hard to imagine someone who wouldn’t benefit from this purchase. It’s a wonderful personal massager, allowing you to get deep into even the most stubborn of knots. With so many different patterns and eight progressively stronger vibration settings, it’s probably the best massager you can get for less than $40.
If you’re looking for a plush and soft vibrator that’ll make your external hot spots sing, the Ava Vivvo is also a worthy spend. This vibe makes it easy to tease yourself on the lowest setting and it’s also efficient on the highest intensity setting. Whether you’re looking at this as a personal massager or a sex wand, though, rest assured that it’ll be money well spent.
