The 3 types of double-ended dildos

Sometimes called double-dildos, double-ended dildos have two insertable heads that generally offer over 18 inches of length, according to Sparks. For frame of reference: The average single-ended dildo is just five to eight inches. The exact shape of double-ended dildos, however, can vary. Some are shaped like a giant “U,” while others are shaped like a capital “I,” while others are hands-free.

How to use a double-ended dildo

U-shaped double-ended dildos: For vulva-owners who want to try double-penetration while masturbating, a U-shaped double-ended dildo is best. Hands-free dildos: There’s a third category of double-ended dildos that are also known as strapless strap-ons (or harness-free strap-ons). One end of the toy is designed to be inserted into the vaginal canal and is held into place with the pelvic floor muscles, says Sparks. The other end is designed to be used as a strap-on dildo, thrusting in and out of another partner’s vagina, anus, or mouth.
