An analysis of over 600,000 skin-care reviews by expert-led beauty content platform Skincare Hero found that while products like sunscreen and cleansers don’t get much better with cost, the same can’t be said for exfoliants.

The platform looked at 10 fan-favorite exfoliants like The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA ($8) and the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel ($17 to $150) and found that the one with the best overall rating was the Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum ($90 to $134). Skincare Hero looked at 677,165 product reviews from Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Ulta to “provide consumers with evidence on which skin-care products are really worth their hard-earned money.”
