I recently set out to solve one of the athleisure world’s great unsolved mysteries: What, exactly, is the difference between sweatpants and joggers? After scouring Reddit and firing off texts to multiple group chats, I finally uncovered the cold, hard truth. Joggers are sweatpants with panache that often come in thinner materials that allow the wearer to move freely whether they’re hiking, biking, or sprawling out on the couch. The case now closed, I set out to find the best pairs of definitely-not-sweatpants to wear whether you’re down for a jog or not.
