The Birkenstock EVA is quite possibly the lightest and most supportive sandal ever.

Unlike the brand’s original style, which features that firm cork-based insole and stiff outsole for all-day support, the Arizona EVA (and other styles) is made from a synthetic known as “ethylene vinyl acetate,” or EVA. This rubbery blend is waterproof, making it easy to clean when you get a case of swamp toes, but is famously lightweight, making it feel like there’s next to nothing on your feet.

While other sandals don’t play well with certain environments, these slides can handle just about anything thanks to their material makeup. Heading to the beach? Sand and heat won’t pose an issue.
