Hey Humans is on a mission for good. Co-founded by Jada Pinkett Smith, all of their products are $6 and under, and totally gender-neutral. The body wash bottle is comprised of infinitely recyclable aluminum, including a plastic-free aluminum screw cap. The formula itself is non-drying, thanks to jojoba seed oils, and is free of sulfates, phthalates and parabens.

Ursa Major Natural Bar Soap | Morning Mojo Bar Soap, Exfoliating Soap with Peppermint, Eucalyptus and Rosemary — $14.00

This exfoliating bar soap is invigorating thanks to peppermint, grapefruit, and eucalyptus, and can be used by everyone in the house. It’s cruelty free and comes wrapped in paper, not plastic. If bar soaps are new to you, may we recommend using a bar soap grip like the SoapStandle. We’ve already dedicated a whole story to Uni (you can read it here), but if you haven’t read it yet, here’s the download: Uni’s products come in recycled aluminum bottles that twist into reusable dispensers—and when you’re all finished with them, you can send them back to Uni so they wash, refill, and send ’em out to customers. How cool is that? Aside from being environmentally awesome, the body wash is what our senior beauty editor would call “facial grade.” It’s got Australian lime extract (a natural citric acid that exfoliates skin and leaves it smooth and soft), Tasmanian sea kelp (this hydrates and softens skin), and organic aloe vera (this helps with skin’s elasticity). Mind and Body Wash Refillable Glass — $35.00

Bathing Culture body wash comes in a refillable glass bottle and is made from a concentrated formula (just a dollop will do ya). After approximately 80 washes, you can get a refill with one of Bathing Culture’s retail partners (and they also sell by the gallon). This particular body wash smells like the forest, and is oh-so refreshing. Made with aloe, shea, and guar, the formula gets you squeaky clean without completely stripping your skin of its natural oils.

Anihana Handcrafted Soap — $4.00

This bath and body brand is doing its part to rid the world of single-use plastic. The products are made with natural ingredients in New Zealand, and the brand was just launched in U.S. Target stores in January 2022. The soaps are truly adorable–like this lavender heart bar–and work as good as they look. The soaps come in cardboard, which can be recycled or composted at home. The brand also uses biodegradable plant-based inks on its packaging.

ATTITUDE Body Soaps — $6.00

The new Leaves Bar Body Soaps come in stunning scents like sandalwood, orange cardamom, herbal musk, and sea salt, and are completely plastic free. Enriched with oils like avocado, coconut, and olive, these soaps soften and hydrate skin. With every product purchased, the brand plants a tree. They also have shampoo, conditioner and hand soap bars that are also plastic free.

MyKirei by Kao Moisturizing Gel Body Wash (16.9 Fl Oz) — $20.00

This moisturizing gel body wash is made with yuzu extract, which is rich in vitamin C, as well as rice water to hydrate parched skin. The Japanese brand is great for those with sensitive skin, including people with eczema. The packaging contains 50 percent less plastic than a traditional body wash bottle, and is 100 percent recyclable through Terracycle.

This cheeky body wash has sold out at Sephora multiple times since it’s launch, and has the Clean + Planet Positive seal at Sephora. The glass packaging is chic and minimalistic, and we love the fun names of the scents, especially Wake The F*ck Up, and Calm The F*ck Down. A great morning (or nighttime) reminder! The formula contains organic white tea extract to promote collagen production, pine bark extract for circulation, and cocoa extract for hydration.

Hand in Hand Cactus Blossom Body Wash — $10.00

This aluminum bottle can be infinitely recycled, and the body wash inside is 97 percent naturally derived, vegan, and palm oil free. For every body wash sold, the company donates a bar of soap and water to a child in need. They also have a subscribe and save model for easy ordering.

Seed Phytonutrients Exfoliating Body Cleanser Powder — $24.00

This tiny bottle really packs a punch. The innovative cleanser is a powder, which means it weighs a lot less than normal water-filled cleansers, making it a lot easier to ship. The turmeric and walnut shell powder exfoliates and cleanses skin without stripping it. Just apply the powder to wet hands and watch it foam and do its magic.
