It’s official, with Daylight Savings Time on Sunday, spring is right around the corner (kombucha cocktails all around for surviving the chill). That means prepping your humble abode for warmer weather and sunnier days.
Dedicate an upcoming weekend (or two) to spring cleaning, decluttering, and swapping out heavy blankets (and sheets) for lighter layers. Until then, there’s one thing you can do ASAP to refresh your pad: Pick up a beautiful, handmade ceramic vase. It’s the perfect excuse to fill your home with floral eye-candy.
Incorporating ceramics can make any corner of the home highly Instagrammable. Bonus: it will conjure joy every time you see it. “Ceramics add a handmade, natural feeling to plant designs,” says botanic-design pro, Rebecca Bullene, founder of Greenery NYC.
Important note that might save your security deposit: The ceramic vases and planters you’re using for fresh bouquets or small plants that need water should be glazed, which is the process that essentially makes the pots waterproof. “If not, you should place a cork mat beneath it to prevent staining on the surface below,” Bullene says. Happy arranging!
