The Pro is the larger, and sleeker (design-wise) of the Hydrow line. It comes with a 22-inch touchscreen display that pivots 25 degrees in both directions and can be used to stream thousands of instructor-led workouts with a Hydrow membership. The Pro can be stored vertically, but it weighs 145 pounds—just something to keep in mind.

The Wave is slightly smaller and considerably lighter, weighing in at 102 pounds (like the Pro, it can be stored vertically). It has a more geometric, open design compared to the Pro, and a smaller touchscreen display that doesn’t rotate—however, if you have a membership, you’ll still be able to access all of the Hydrow library with ease. Also, with the Wave, you can choose from a variety of colors, all of which come in a matte finish. Snazzy!
The Hydrow Rower isn’t your average rower. Which Hydrow should you choose?
The easiest distinction between the Hydrow Wave and Pro is the size. If you’re short on space, the slightly smaller footprint of the Wave model might mean it’s a better choice for you. If you’re a taller person (think: over 6’2″) the Wave could be a little tight—you’ll likely have a more comfortable workout experience on the Pro.
The Wave is also significantly lighter (102 pounds versus the Pro’s 145 pounds), so it’ll be easier to move around your space or store vertically, but won’t have as much of a solid, luxe feeling compared to the Pro. Additionally, the Wave comes in a variety of colors, which may or may not matter to you, but is kind of fun.
The display is bigger on the Pro model (22 inches versus the Wave’s 16 inches), which provides more of an immersive experience during on-water rowing classes, but both models make it super easy to stream Hydrow’s 5,000+ rowing workouts (membership required). Both Hydrow models also come with a 30-day home trial and a free, one-year warranty (you can choose to pay for an extended warranty after that).
