Reformation just launched its first plus-size collection—and pieces are already selling out

I have a love-hate relationship with Reformation: The brand creates the type of minimal but chicly fun clothing staples that you’ll wear until the threads disintegrate (and with sustainable textiles like Tencel rather than the polyester threads common to fast fashion pieces, that process can take a while). Unfortunately, I’ve never had much success shopping at Reformation because its sizing options are somewhat limited, to say the least. The garments are available in sizes 0 through 12 (a small 12, TBH), which excludes a ton of people. But now the brand is starting to rectify that with its first plus-size collaboration.

After receiving an onslaught of comments and requests over the past year about expanding its limited sizes, according to the brand, Reformation launched a spring collection with plus-size model Ali Tate Cutler, who helped design the clothes—which range from size 0 to 22—and also models them on the site. In typical Reformation fashion, these duds are expensive (prices start at $78 and cap out at $218), and they feature sustainable fabrics that fulfill your (and my) spring and summer wardrobe fantasies. And though the new collection went live only a couple days ago, on March 26, several of the items have almost completely sold out in sizes 12 to 22, like the Brandi Two-Piece and the Lucy Dress.

Although this is only a fleeting spring collection and the brand hasn’t announced plans to permanently institute expanded sizes, here’s to hoping that the instant popularity of the collab bodes well for the future of inclusive fashion.
