When I was a kid, I'd put up a stink whenever I had to help my mom clean the house. She'd say, "Jamey, when it's your house, you'll take a little more pride in how clean it is." Of course, as she is with everything, my mother was absolutely right: As an adult, I love to clean. While I find joy in tidying up day to day, there's something especially satisfying about scooting the furniture around and making time for a big spring clean (or a BSC, if you will). I'm talking about the kind of hands-and-knees cleaning that feels more like a full-body workout but leaves your entire home looking (and smelling) brand spankin' new.
With spring just around the corner, it's time to start plotting your own BSC, and that means making sure you're equipped with the right tools. Luckily, I've started a solid list of my personal favorite spring cleaning products to help you build your arsenal. Once you have these items at your disposal, all that's left to do is put on your favorite playlist, don your comfiest sweats, and get down to work.
14 tools to make spring cleaning a lot easier
Persik Pure-Sky Window & Glass Cloth — $15

I'm trying to be more conscious of how many paper towels I use while cleaning and specialty glass towels, like this one from Persik, make that much easier. All you have to do is wet the microfiber towel, wring it out, wipe the surface, and watch your mirrors, glass windows, or fingerprint-laden glass coffee table (guilty) shine. Plus, the towel is machine washable so you can use it again and again.
Mr. Scrub Damp Dusting Sponge (2-Pack) — $8

Great news: You can also stop using a gazillion paper towels to clean your baseboards. These grooved sponges pick up all sorts of dust and dirt hiding in the sneaky crevices of your molding. Just swipe a moistened sponge along the baseboard (or wherever else you need to attack dust), let the ridges pick up the debris, then rinse the sponge clean. Easy peasy.
Newliton High-Reach Duster Set — $60

Dust busters, rejoice! This duster kit includes a telescopic pole with a 9-foot reach for tough corners, plus three different duster attachments. Use the smaller feather duster to tackle lower surfaces, the bendable microfiber duster for banisters and awkward angles, and the chenille fan duster for, well, fans.
Sponsored: Tineco Pure ONE Station 5 Cordless Smart Vacuum — $459

Vacuuming is one of my many joys in life, and I'm not ashamed of that. Annoyingly (but also awesomely), my apartment has a spiral staircase, so we used to have to shlep our vacuum up and down the glorified ladder to clean our upper level. That is, until we got this smart vacuum station from Tineco. The Pure ONE Station 5 has a larger canister that empties the smaller compartment attached to the vacuum itself every time you dock it. Sure, it's a bit excessive and definitely takes up more room than a standard cordless vacuum. But it cleans like a pro (that green light shows everything!) and saves me trips to the trash can down our death-trap stairs, so it's a winner in my book. It’s also great for anyone who suffers from seasonal allergies—it has a 12-stage, 99.99% HEPA filtration system that effectively captures pollen and fine dust and its no-touch dustbin emptying prevents that dust from dispersing into the air. (For a limited time, you can also snag 50% off Tineco accessories with code TinecoSpring2025US.)
Homecourt Surface Cleaner — $25

Courtney Cox's home care line (appropriately named Homecourt) is one of my latest obsessions. I have the brand's hand soap in the bathroom and I leave this surface cleaner sitting out on our kitchen countertop for daily use—because not only does it work well and smell even better, the bottle also looks super sleek. I've just traded out the Balsam Fireplace scent, which was ideal for winter, for this brighter Cipres Mint fragrance to usher in warmer weather. Monica would be proud.
RMR Tub & Tile Mold & Mildew Stain Cleaner — $16

My bathroom is predominantly tile, which is really cute... except it also means I have to clean a ton of grout—and I hate cleaning grout. This spray from RMR Solutions is the only grout cleaner that I've ever been impressed by, even if the formula is far from natural and smells like a chemical plant (the bottle's "modern orchard" scent claim is truly laughable). I recommend opening windows, turning on the exhaust, and wearing rubber gloves while cleaning with this spray, but trust me: if you've got nasty grout, this stuff works.
Bamllum Rubber Gloves (4-pack) — $10

Did you read the above paragraph and think wow, I should get some rubber gloves? I gotchu. This four-pack of reusable gloves comes in three sizes (S, M, L), and each glove has a flexible fit and grippy palms for less slippage. Plus, the set comes with four different colors so you can designate each color to a different task (is my Type A showing?).
Stardrops The Pink Stuff Miracle Cleaning Paste — $6

I don't know if I'd call The Pink Stuff a "miracle," but I have found it to be rather effective for cleaning stainless steel, burner grates, toilet stains, and shower doors. All you do is swipe a bit onto a damp towel, rub the area you're cleaning, then rinse off. The paste is mildly abrasive, so be careful on surfaces you care about. The brand recommends testing a patch before digging in (as do I), and note that it takes a few rinses to get all the residue off.
Rubbermaid Reveal Power Scrubber — $20

Scrubbing can turn into a serious workout, especially if you're working on a large area or squeezing into tight corners. This spin brush from Rubbermaid is kind of like an electric toothbrush on steroids. I've used mine to tackle grout stains (paired with the above spray), clean filthy sneakers, and buff our stainless steel sink with the Pink Stuff (also above). It also lives up to its water-tight claims; I can attest that it holds up even after dunking most of it in the toilet.
Ordilend Tech Cleaning Kit — $17

I'm going to bet your tech devices could use a little spring cleaning, too, and this compact cleaning kit is perfect for the job. It contains a variety of small, tech-friendly brushes and sponges to get into the many nooks and crannies of your laptop, headphones, hair dryer, gaming systems, and more. Best of all, everything stores away into one small box so you can keep it in your desk or work bag.
Windmill Air Purifier — from $299

Your home can benefit from an air purifier year round, but springtime in particular is when they really get to shine. While most plug-in air purifiers are unattractive at best, this sleek bamboo purifier from Windmill is, dare I say, chic? It uses three layers of medical-grade HEPA filtration to suck in dust, pollen, odor, and smoke in rooms up to 442 square feet. Best of all, this Energy Star-rated purifier can be programmed and controlled via an app for ease of use. Did I mention how not ugly it is?
Affresh Dishwasher Cleaner (6-Pack) — $9

Sure, you may use your dishwasher to wash your dishes—but when's the last time you washed your dishwasher? Yes, it's a thing, and yes, you should do it every month if possible. This pack of six tabs from Affresh will tackle stubborn mineral buildup on your dishwasher's pump, racks, and tough-to-reach spots you didn't know existed, and help keep it running like a pro.
OxiClean Washing Machine Cleaner (4-Pack) — $9

Ok, same question as above, but trade "dishwasher" for "washing machine." Yes, your washing machine can also benefit from regular TLC! I like these pouches from OxiClean, which helps remove gunky buildup and odor-causing residue (ew). Just dump a pouch into your empty washer and run the machine on hot for a basic cycle. Any time I do this, I really feel like my clothes come out fresher from the next wash.
Bona Premium Hardwood Floor Spray Mop — $42

ICYMI, Swiffer is out, Bona's reusable, washable pads are in. This spray mop comes with the brand's hardwood floor-specific concentrate (made from USDA-certified, bio-based ingredients) and a microfiber cleaning pad that Velcros onto the base of the mop and can be washed up to 500 times. Best of all, the cleaning solution smells great and leaves your hardwood sparkling.
