Leave it to Meghan Markle to make toe rings cool again (hello, ’90s). Okay, maybe not *actual* toe rings (although if she did add some Markle Sparkle to her royal trotters, we definitely would, too) but toe-ring sandals, strappy summer shoes with a built-in toe loop.
According to WhoWhatWear, everybody’s favorite Duchess of Sussex was photographed wearing such fancy footwear in June at Prince Harry’s polo match. On top, Markle looked effortless in a chicer version of a Canadian tuxedo: a chambray button-down tucked into soft denim shorts. While we’re fawning over what is effectively our new favorite summer outfit (next to her coastal grandma chic striped linen pants, of course), it’s the subtle toe-ring sandals that we’re adding to our cart immediately. Well, we would… if they weren’t almost entirely sold out.

Despite the hefty price tag, Markle’s pair of Emme Parson’s Laurie Sandals ($252) flew off shelves, leaving us to scour for the next best things. Which we found, by the way—not only adorned with trendy toe loops, but designed with ergonomic features the Laurie Sandals skimped out on. From added arch support and midsole cushioning, to traction control, scroll to shop toe ring sandals that are actually better for your feet, and just as cute as Markle’s.

Although backless sandals tend to be a bit more stressful on feet, these make up for it with the high sculpted footbed that hugs arches, step after step. They feature one wide band in a sandy reptile texture that’s elevated with a large gold buckle, giving you a little extra sparkle without overdoing it. Plus, the Champagne color goes with everything, so nothing’s off limits.
Just note, they are made of genuine leather, so if you’re looking for a vegan option, this isn’t it.

These silver sandals elevate any outfit (literally) with a durable 1.5-inch wedge heel and synthetic midsole that provides comfortable cushioning. (Or, just the days when you want to add your own “Markle Sparkle.”) The Emagentas are designed with a flat foot bed complete with a supportive synthetic lining and sole. But the crown jewel is the silver chain-like band and toe loop that shines while you stroll. It’s the closest thing you’ll find to putting an actual toe ring.

These cloud-like sandals are easy on feet, and your wallet. At just $20, the Cushionaire Carson slides feature a dreamy memory foam midsole that’ll make you feel like you’re forgetting shoes in the first place. While they don’t have the best arch support, that foam does a great job keeping feet cozy, while rubber sole allows for excellent traction. Available in white, brown, black, and tan.
