5 Worldwide Airbnbs Perfect for a Getaway Full of Dreamy Stargazing
The International Dark-Sky Association (IDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding and preserving dark skies, Afar reports. "People are interested in getting out of the city environments they’re in all the time and into more natural spaces that are very different from the everyday lives they live," said John Barentine, the program director at IDA.
IDA keeps a digital catalog of the 100 places around the world they've designated as "dark-sky sites," and as you might imagine, some of these locales are über serene. Check out the selection of Airbnbs below, all located in or near dark-sky approved stargazing spots.

1. Exmoor National Park, United Kingdom, $138 per night
This cottage is secluded and—bonus!—located inside a national park, meaning you can fully immerse yourself in the natural surroundings.
2. Joshua Tree, California, $120 per night
Another reason to visit Joshua Tree! Spend a day taking in the scenery and visiting a sound bath, and return to this cozy and velvet-filled home to stargaze on the outside deck.
3. Warrumbungle National Park, Australia, $121 per night
More than just a dark-sky site, this Aussie gem is actually an observatory in an area deemed the "astronomy capital of Australia." So, yeah, star lovers out there, take note.
4. Elk Island National Park, Alberta, $106
This antique pioneer home is just a (relatively) short trip north of the US border. Here you can take unplugging to the next level.
5. Maltahohe, Namibia, $29 per night
For about the same price per night as a studio fitness class, you can stay in this remote Namibian bungalow with a pool that's located by the NamibRand Nature Reserve.
