Experts Say *These* Lightweight Summer Pajamas Will Keep You Cool as a Cucumber While You Snooze
Do you have a favorite pair of pajamas? Better yet, do they remain your favorite PJs all year round? Chances are, they don’t. After all, what’s comfortable in fall and winter’s crisp temperatures can be pretty stifling come summer. Flannel in July? No thanks...
That’s why we chatted with fabric experts about the best pajamas for women, made of the best fabrics to sleep in this summer. According to Joann's Fabrics' textile sourcing team, hot, humid climates call for moisture-wicking materials, like lightweight cotton and other natural plant fibers. These are the pajamas that won't leave you in a puddle of sweat. "For example, bamboo-based viscose is more sustainable and has fast-drying abilities because it absorbs moisture," the team's spokesperson suggests. "Eucalyptus-derived Tencel is also a good option because it is highly absorbent and breathable.”
Save the silk, polyester, or flannel for winter. “These fabrics are natural insulators that will make you feel warmer, which is not ideal for summer nights,” the team’s same spokesperson reveals. “Also, avoid tight fabrics and instead opt for natural fibers that have more give so they don’t stick to your body during the night.”
Now that you know what materials to look for (and which ones to steer clear of), it’s time to find your coziest summer pajamas. Ahead, find seven dreamy sleepwear sets that fit the bill.
