Target Is Getting the “Prime” Treatment: Same-Day Delivery Is Coming Soon
By 2019, Target is expected to offer same-day delivery on all products from a majority of its stores.
CNN Money reports that Target recently purchased Shipt, a company that uses personal shoppers to buy and deliver items from a number of stores and retailers. So what does this $550 million acquisition mean for your convenient shopping needs? By early 2018 (which begins just *weeks* from now), Target will begin to roll out same-day delivery from about half its stores starting with products like (discounted) groceries, home products, electronics, and select other items. By 2019, Target is expected to offer same-day delivery on all products from a majority of its stores.
"With Shipt's network of local shoppers and their current market penetration, we will move from days to hours, dramatically accelerating our ability to bring affordable same-day delivery to guests across the country," said John Mulligan, Target's chief operating officer.
Which makes me wonder: In 2018 will anything be undeliverable?
