But shouldn't packing for a getaway be as carefree (and lighthearted, emphasis on light) as the getaway itself? That's the philosophy that Natalie Glaze, globe-trotting Instagram luminary, subscribes to—and she's here to spill all of her minimalist (and genius) secrets.

Whether she's fresh off an island adventure in Ibiza or a jungle retreat in Bali (both true stories), the UK-based lifestyle blogger turns a discerning eye to her weekender bag, and somehow stocks the just-right amount for a healthy jaunt through every exotic locale.

We challenged her to put together the end all, be all of packing lists from J.Crew's vacation-happy summer collection, complete with scoop-backed (and classically charming) swimsuits, the it-denim shorts of the season, and wear-with-everything vintage tees.

The one-piece swimsuit, $110

When it comes to beach attire, a classic choice is a foolproof place to start. "I feel most confident in a well-cut swimsuit on the beach," she shares. "And stripes and swimsuits are a perfect combination."

The cute printed tee, $30

"I am obsessed with all things cacti, so this t-shirt is my DREAM," Glaze gushes. "It's perfect with a pair of denim cut-offs and white trainers for a laid-back summer vibe." Speaking of keeping things chill, Glaze is also a proponent of stepping away from social media—even though it's her job. "I often will give myself a few hours away from my phone a day to have a hike or watch the sunset. No distractions," she says. Mindful travel = the best travel.

Wear-everywhere denim shorts, $80

"You can’t beat a pair of denim shorts whilst away! The packing staple," Glaze declares. And when you have items you can throw in your bag and go, it makes it all the easier to focus on the reason why you're on-the-go in the first place.

The beachy tunic, $70

"You can’t go wrong with a white shirt coverup—simple, stylish, and the perfect addition to any summer wardrobe," advises Glaze. In addition to throwing on this chic staple, she also recommends using a mineral sunscreen and refreshing facial mist to keep cool.

The zip-up sports bra, $60

Whether throwing it on for a beach run or a sunset yoga sesh, a sports bra is always a suitcase necessity. "I always try and incorporate workouts to my travels whether it's gym, hiking, running, or yoga, and this stylish stripe sports bra shouts chic workout style to me," Glaze says.

The throw-them-on-and-go leggings, $80

"I recently traveled to Bali, which I adored—the food and jungle yoga vibes were right up my street," notes Glaze. "I loved hiking and paddle-boarding and exploring what the beautiful country has to offer." The ingredient you need for all that action? A solid pair of leggings, of course. Pair these New Balance for J.Crew leggings with the matching striped sports bra, and you've got the pulled-together activewear look (or lounging attire) of healthy-getaway dreams.

The eyelet dress, $78

At least one flirty dress is necessary—and bonus points if it doubles as a beach cover-up in a pinch. "I am a big fan of off-the-shoulder style dresses and tops when I am away," Glaze says. "This simple navy number is perfect for beach-to-evening, and I would style it with a pair of espadrilles and gold hoops for an easy day-to-night look."

This relaxed pair has just the right level of detail to class up a look while still being walk-to-the-restaurant comfortable. "Espadrilles are one of my go-to shoes whilst I travel," adds Glaze.

Tortoiseshell sunglasses, $118

While Glaze acknowledges that packing light is a serious struggle, she contends that less is always better. "I know in the end all I need is some good swimwear, sunglasses, running shoes, and a great book—and I am pretty much set." Count these shades as a go-to, then.
