There’s an elusiveness about “summery” skin; skin that’s dewy, clear, and, ostensibly, effortless. Now that I’m in the latter half of my twenties, though (with the post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation to prove it), I’m finding it increasingly tricky to nail an even-toned, I-woke-up-like-this glow. Foundation often looks obvious in bright daylight, while “serum” foundations feel too whisper-quiet for my ruddier skin days.
GloWish Multi Dew Skin Tint is a hybrid product that falls smack-dab in the middle. Technically a light-coverage foundation, this tint delivers a traceless, radiant finish that brings my skin back to its spring-break days. The formula is pigmented enough to conceal my less-prominent imperfections, and provides a smooth, even concealer base for the more blatant blemishes—all without caking, cracking, or pilling. (“Why, yes, this is the natural state of my makeup-free skin.”)

Huda Beauty GloWish Multidew Vegan Skin Tint Foundation — $37.00
The GloWish Skin Tint is available in 13 shades, all of which are designed to provide sheer coverage and be super blendable. And in addition to moisturizing squalane and rose oil, the formula includes red bell pepper extract, which is meant to help protect your skin from blue-light damage.

This tint also plays well with other products; most notably, it sits beautifully atop every type of sunscreen I’ve used with it. This is crucial, because the formula does not contain its own SPF. (For the record: Even if it did, I’d still slap on a standalone SPF!)
GloWish does, however, contain other skin-care ingredients. Namely, rose oil, which leaves my face petal-soft by retaining moisture, and squalane, “a lipid in our sebum produced naturally by our own bodies,” according to Liana Cutrone, a skin therapist at Heyday, who spoke previously with Well+Good about the ingredient. All in all, it’s a radiant, luminous, your-skin-but-better foundation—a non-foundation foundation, if you will—that delivers something close to summer skin in a tube.
Another reason it’s fantastic for summer? It’s sweat-proof and water-proof. I’ve yet to hop in a pool, but I can vouch for how GloWish withstands running (literally, running) late to brunch/picnics/yoga in the heat of the New York City summer. So far, no makeup meltdowns!
