When it comes to the most Googled Fourth of July recipes, you might be surprised by what Americans are searching for from sea to shining sea. Alabama loves…broccoli salad? And are waffles really being served up at cookouts in Vermont? According to new stats from the tech giant, yes.
Google did a deep dive to see which recipes were trending in each state—disregarding the ones that were popular across the board, like potato salad and that ever-so patriotic red, white, and blue fruit salad—and the results are pretty surprising.
Depending on where you’re celebrating, you can expect to be served zucchini bread (Utah), vegetable soup (Kentucky), spaghetti squash (Colorado), or squash casserole (Georgia). It turns out that the way Americans celebrate Independence Day is just as diverse as the people who live here.
