The Eating Plan Vanessa Hudgens Relies on to Fuel Serious Ab Workouts
Recently the Powerless star revealed that she sticks to the ketogenic diet, the healthy fat-fueled, low carb eating plan that Kim Kardashian, Adriana Lima, and Megan Fox are all into.
"I think that we’ve been brainwashed to think that fat is bad, but really, it’s what going to make you feel fuller longer. And your body can burn it and use it as fuel."
"No carbs. No dairy. No refined sugar. [It's] eating real foods. It’s honestly high-fat, high-protein. I think that we’ve been brainwashed to think that fat is bad, but really, it’s what going to make you feel fuller longer. And your body can burn it and use it as fuel," she said while filming the Rachael Ray Show recently. (The episode will air May 10.)
Not only does the ketogenic diet give her enough energy to power through her workouts, she says it keeps her metabolism from bouncing all over the place. And avocado lovers, FYI: 80 percent of your calories on this eating plan are from fat. So there's plenty of spots on the menu every day for your fave green fruit.
Hudgens' ex, Zac Efron, sticks to a similar eating plan—and here's his secret to cutting sugar cravings. And if you want to try the ketogenic diet, here are some recipes to get you started.
